Course Curriculum

The DELF A2 course builds on the basics of French. It prepares students to communicate in routine situations like shopping, traveling, and making appointments, focusing on real-life scenarios.

Module 1: Introduction to DELF A2

  • Expand vocabulary for topics like family, work, and leisure
  • Learn words and phrases for shopping, ordering food, etc.
  • Master vocabulary for describing everyday objects and activities
  • Focus on expressing preferences and likes/dislikes
  • Learn vocabulary related to hobbies and travel
  • Understand common French adjectives and adverbs
  • Practice using adjectives to describe people and places

Module 2: Building Vocabulary for Daily Life

  • Learn to form questions and responses in everyday conversations
  • Use simple conjunctions to form more complex ideas
  • Practice using modal verbs like “pouvoir”, “vouloir”, and “devoir”
  • Work with both affirmative and negative structures
  • Form simple sentences to express desires and preferences
  • Use the past tense to talk about personal experiences
  • Work on describing events and actions in sequence

Module 3: Expressing Simple Opinions

  • Practice listening to longer and more detailed conversations
  • Understand spoken French about daily life topics
  • Focus on recognizing key information in dialogues
  • Learn to listen for specific details and information
  • Listen to French radio, TV programs, and interviews
  • Practice listening comprehension with audio recordings
  • Use videos and podcasts to improve listening skills

Module 4: Improving Listening Skills

  • Engage in basic conversations about your life and routine
  • Practice talking about your family, hobbies, and interests
  • Learn how to ask for advice, give directions
  • Participate in role-plays for real-life situations
  • Express opinions using phrases like “je pense que” and “à mon avis”
  • Practice pronunciation with exercises and dialogues
  • Use language exchange for speaking practice

Module 5: Speaking with Confidence

  • Read simple texts, such as news headlines and short stories
  • Learn to understand practical texts, like brochures and menus
  • Write basic descriptions of events and personal experiences
  • Fill out forms and write postcards or short emails
  • Write simple essays or stories using basic vocabulary
  • Learn to express time and location in written form
  • Focus on spelling, grammar, and punctuation in writing

Module 6: Reading and Writing Practice

  • Practice listening and repeating longer sentences
  • Enhance reading comprehension through simple dialogues
  • Focus on pronunciation of complex words
  • Read more complex materials with improved understanding
  • Use articles and adjectives in writing descriptions
  • Engage in basic debates or opinions on familiar topics
